Phil has over fifteen years of board level experience across the commercial, government and not for profit sectors, with particular experience in the health industry.
He is the immediate past National President and Chair of the Board of the Australian Physiotherapy Association, the peak body representing the 31,000 plus physio's and their patients in Australia. In 2019, Phil was appointed by federal health minister the Hon Greg Hunt to the Primary Care Reform steering committee, which was charged with developing a ten year roadmap for primary health care in Australia. He also served on the National Preventative Health Strategy expert taskforce. He has a strong interest in health policy and economics, in particular the drivers of funding schemes and funding decisions.
Phil has worked in a number of senior roles within SA Health, including as Head of Department of Physiotherapy at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital. He also has over 15 years experience in private paediatric practice in Adelaide, interstate and overseas.
Phil is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and is a Director of two of his own companies: Paediatric Pain Care SA and Children’s Physio SA.
