Bruce Hamilton completed studies in Physical Education and Medicine at Otago University, prior to completing the Australasian College of Sport and Exercise Medicine Fellowship in 2001. Bruce worked internationally in elite sport for 20 years, with roles in Australia, United Kingdom and Qatar before returning to lead the health service within High Performance Sport New Zealand and the New Zealand Olympic Committee in 2013. Bruce has attended multiple Olympic and Commonwealth Games in a medical capacity and is a member of the Commonwealth Games Federation Anti-Doping and Medical Commission. Bruce’s current research interests include mental health and cardiac screening in elite athletes, anti-doping, and the history of sports medicine.
