Jessica is a Senior Research Fellow and NHMRC Emerging Leadership (EL1) Fellow at the School of Public Health, Faculty of Medicine & Health, the University of Sydney. Jessica is Editor-in-Chief of JSAMS Plus, an Associate Editor of the British Journal of Sports Medicine, a Cardiac Research Fellow at Cricket Australia and a Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology (FESC). Jessica was selected for the World Heart Federation Emerging Leaders program in 2023. Jessica’s PhD was awarded without emendation in November 2020 (University of Sydney), for which she was awarded the Peter Bancroft Prize for Research. She also has a Master of Public Health (with Merit), and Bachelor of Economics / Bachelor of Laws (Hons I) also from the University of Sydney.  

Jessica’s research aims to improve the quality of screening programs to prevent sudden cardiac death and catastrophic disability from stroke. She is currently leading an international, multidisciplinary team building an Australasian registry of athlete ECGs. She is also interested in digital health, implementation of novel eHealth tools, and how the law can be used to achieve public health aims.
