Sherika is a Sri Lankan Sport and Exercise Medicine Physician and has been continuing her training at Anglesea Sports Medicine, Hamilton, New Zealand since 2022. She was the merit first and was a Gold Medalist at the MD exit exam in Sport and Exercise Medicine in Sri Lanka in 2021. She has completed an Advanced Sport Management course at the National Olympic Committee Sri Lanka and is a Doping Control Officer at the Sri Lanka Anti-Doping Agency. Sherika has attended as the Deputy-Chef-De-Mission for the Sri Lankan contingent and also as a team physician for the Pokhara Games village in the 13th South Asian Games held in Nepal in 2019. She enjoys seeing musculoskeletal injuries in both athletic and general populations and medical problems related to sports and physical activity. She served as the Match Day Doctor for the Black Caps, White Ferns, and Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic in 2022 and 2023. Sherika was in the medic team for several women's club rugby teams, track and road cycling events, Special Olympic basketball, and an Event Doctor at the Ironman NZ. Sherika enjoys her time in NZ with her husband and two sons.
